We can say that it is the period of time that is the most enjoyable for children but also requires patience. Our little children between the ages of 2 and 3 try to speak by making small sentences and sometimes to express themselves by shouting loudly. You may think that they are growing up during this period, but it should not be forgotten that they are just coming out of infancy.
How Do These Processes Go For Them?
- During this period, they begin to learn about social relations and can imagine how others feel (empathy).
- They know what they want and they can appear authoritarian.
- As we all know and experience from time to time, ‘No’ can be one of their favourite words.
- Tantrums are common in this age group.
- They may play with other children for a short time, but most do not yet have any real sharing skills.
- They may have a hard time waiting or making a choice.
- They may have difficulty understanding reasons or controlling their impulses.
- They like to copy adults both in appearance and in their activities. When your child is with you, we should be careful with our conversations.
- Their vocabulary is developing, so they may be worried about certain issues. We have to introduce the world to them as a place where they can cope.
- A two-year-old still thinks her parents can read her mind.
- They have trouble distinguishing reality from fantasy and love to play fantasy games.
- They can scribble, draw lines, dots, and circles, but may not yet be able to draw a picture.
- Your child is now much more confident in her physical abilities but has no idea when to stop. They often cross borders. They can not keep themselves safe, you should set boundaries and should therefore apply.
- While under our supervision, you must help them develop their skills by giving them (safe) chances to play.
