What’s The Right Time To Start?
We can say that this mysterious process in which your child is unfamiliar is a challenging time for both of you and your child. We can say that children between the ages of 18 months and 3 years are ready for toilet training. On average, it would be more accurate to give toilet training at the age of 2 years and 4 months. This is also related to the characteristics of his/her age.
So what are the common signs of potty training readness?
Dear Parents,
- If your child is, able to urinate at one sitting,
- having a dry diaper for a few hours
- able to seat in the same position for 2-5 minutes, able to sit,
- able to walk,
- able to raise or lower his/her pants,
- pulling at a wet or dirty diaper,
- showing interest in others’ use of the potty, or copying their behaviour,
- informing you when s/he needs to go to the toilet or reports when his/her bowels are moving,
- wants to use the potty or toilette without having fear,
- able to use initiative and act independently,
- able to understand short and concise instructions, it is appropriate to start toilet training.
